Artist Statement
        I create two-dimensional artwork in a naturalistic style. In my work, I focus on personal interests and place emphasis on color and light. I enjoy expressing the idea of beauty and aesthetics in my paintings and drawings. The representation of light is often the focal point in my work, and I use value and color to lead the viewer’s eye through the image. 
     

    My love for being active in nature has drawn a connection to colorful landscapes. Using imagination and observation, I created a series of landscape paintings in bright and exaggerated colors to illustrate this connection. 

         

        The subjects in these paintings are significant to me because most of them represent memories of home. From my backyard to my favorite driving destination, all these locations evoke a sense of nostalgia for me. I reimagined the reality of these places to look more fantastical and created an aesthetic experience that is emotionally appealing and inviting.

  In addition to landscapes, I capture the beauty of everyday objects arranged in simple compositions. I use smooth brushstrokes and blended color to create a natural appearance of forms and place focus on details. 
     

      I want my work to inspire people to see the beauty in life; whether it be an outdoor scene, an appealing arrangement of everyday objects, or simply the light striking an object.
